Lake Tahoe renowned for its water clarity is the second deepest lake in the U.S. with approximately one third of the lake located in Nevada and the remaining two thirds in California.  To the west, the lake is bordered by the Sierra Nevada mountain range with the Carson Range bordering the east.  A dramatic topographic relief results between the base lake level of 6,225 ft and the surrounding high peaks, soaring over 10,000 ft high!
